The Gender Equality Matters (GEM) project, funded by the EU’s Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme in 2018, aims to address gender-based violence by promoting gender equality.

The Project
The project’s training focuses on gender stereotypes, gender-based bullying and gender-based violence, with attention to vulnerable groups such as women, men in violent situations, and LGBTI individuals.
Teaching materials have been developed and used in Ireland, Spain, Greece and Italy. The project also trains parents through participating schools, parents’ associations and national bodies like Ireland’s National Parents’ Council.
A free online MOOC with four modules and a completion certificate is available here.
